The Bible says ” … it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35) right? It is true and I have experienced it personally many times but yesterday I had the opportunity to experience this joy along with a group of people and what an experience!
As you may have gathered from my book “The Worship Minister”, i am the Music Director in my Church, New Life Bible Church, in London. Yesterday was our Pastor, Richard Jama‘s birthday and we, the Worship Team, have planned to make it unforgettable for him since he would still be in the office during our Monday rehearsals. So after our rehearsals, we all went to ‘invade’ his office armed with a signed birthday card, a cake, a present (from our collective effort) and buckets of KFC chicken (his wife it was okay)!
Was he surprised? You Bet! Watch this 220-second video:
Not only was he surprised and grateful, but the joy that i saw on the faces of the Worship Team members was priceless.
Why? We gave of our time and treasure to make someone else happy.
